Dode is a substance that comes from the poppy and is an opiate. The problem is that it’s not yet illegal and people are getting as addicted to it as they do to heroin. There have been headlines in Brampton and Mississauga Ontario about the substance being sold in meat shops and consumed by those looking to stay awake. The problem is, it’s highly addictive and easy to acquire at about only $1 per gram.
Because the opiate % isn’t quite high enough for police to arrest people, it’s considered a gray area that’s causing quite a stir in the media. Many methadone clinics are seeing a rise in people using methadone to try to kick the Dode habit. Perhaps increased awareness will cause authorities to do something to make this addictive substance with the same risks as any other narcotic taken off the shelves.

Beans beans, good for your heart.
The More You Eat; The More… HEALTHIER YOU ARE.
What did you think I was going to say?
All joking aside, beans are great for your health. They’re full of fiber, they are good for your colon and the more often you eat them the less often you’ll find yourself as..well..flatulent.
Even RealAge.com featured the bean the other day for their help in aiding you with building muscle. They’re high in iron so help you to oxygenate your blood and they are high in antioxidant value as well.
How To Get More Beans Into Your Diet
Beyond franks and beans, consider having bean salad a few times a week for lunch and eating chili more often as well.
Cheers to your good health!

By advertising something is trans-fat free, some advertisers have lulled people into a false sense of healthfulness. Just because something is trans-fat free does not mean it’s good for you!
Don’t suddenly supersize your fries because your local fast food restaurant says “Trans-Fat Free!” In trying to fill your plate half full with veggies, don’t think fries qualify. We all enjoy some crispy fries and gravy or ketchup once in a while but many experts suggest you just have one ‘cheat’ day a week. Some say to stay away from fast food altogether. Trans fats are bad for you but so are some other kinds of fats like saturated fats!
Opt for healthy fat but still keep it at a manageable level otherwise you’ll increase your caloric intake and put your health at risk.
Good fats with limits:
extra virgin olive oil
flaxseed oil
organic coconut oil
avocado
whole milk
Good fat is good for your brain and your health but overdo it and you’ll gain weight.

The latest trend in smooth-as-a-baby’s-bottom tootsies is a pedicure where you put your feet in a tank and let little flesh-nibbling fishies eat the dead skin off your feet.
The prospect sounds gross and what are the health concerns? I would wonder this:
-How often is the water being changed?
-Are people told not to do this if they have open sores on their feet?
-Is it tolerable or would it be far too ticklish?
I’m not sure I could manage but then again I can’t stand my feet being touched. Seems to be a huge craze that’ll undoubtedly spread like wildfire. Would you try it? The garra rufa fish at http://www.yvonnesalon.com/ are the hungry cosmeticians. I wonder if they thought to negotiate profit sharing…

Not only should you get healthy levels of hydration to keep your skin looking healthy but there are foods that promote healthier looking skin and a clearer complexion, too.
The old tale about fast food and chocolate being bad for your complexion and acne-causing definitely holds true. Your skin is your largest organ and what you eat and drink can immediately impact your skin.
Here are some foods that support and can create a healthier, more youthful glow
-antioxidants like berries
-healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil and avocado as well as fish oil and flaxseed oil
-foods rich in vitamin C and B
-whole grain foods.

Recent research suggests that if you have a lot of nut sensitivities in your family, you should refrain from eating them during pregnancy. According to the article, asthma rates could be increased.
In terms of nut consumption during breastfeeding, there are suggestions that eating any peanuts during lactation could result in your child being allergic to nuts. If you have a strong family history of nut allergy, think twice. Be very cautious when giving your child nut products for the first time and don’t do so during infant or young toddler stages.
Heredity can play a large part in whether or not allergies happen and if you consume certain foods before the immune system is mature enough, it could create allergies.

Today I watched on the news that a Mom went into a shop for 10 minutes with her two children and left her 11 day old baby in a hot car. There’s a heat alert today (not that any other day would be safe to leave a baby alone or even a dog in a scorching hot automobile!) It got me thinking about heat and safety. The baby is fine, thankfully.
Here are some tips for coping with the heat. I assume you already know that a child or adult or pet shouldn’t be left in a scorching hot car. Apparently not everyone knows that.(The woman should be left in a hot car until just before she passes out and then sent to parenting classes to say the least)
-Drink plenty of fluid and eat. Not only do you have to worry about hydration but you need to worry about feeling faint in the heat as well.
-Drink sports drinks to replenish your electrolytes especially if you’re doing outdoor work or sports.
-Rest frequently if you’re doing active work outside
-If your house isn’t air conditioned and you’re having trouble coping, see if your city has any cooling centres or visit your local shopping mall for a break from the heat
-Frequent cool showers can be very helpful as can a cool wash cloth
-Avoid unnecessary use of heat appliances such as the stove. Opt for a cold dinner or do some barbecuing.

Finding the best pain reliever and fever medicine is important. Which one is right for you? Taking the right one can mean fast and longer lasting results but not everyone has the same results and pain and fever could be signs of something serious. You might want to try different approaches and you might be like me and keep both in your house.
Tylenol is acetominophen and Advil or Motrin is Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is my choice for pain relief but for my son who’s asthmatic we know Ibuprofen is not recommended and my husband had a stomach ulcer and was told to avoid this drug so we keep both medications in our cabinet.
For teething and toothaches and hangovers, my choice is Ibuprofen.
Acetominophen is effective for pain such as headache and fever and has few side effects.
Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory so if you’ve got muscle aches, menstrual cramps or a tooth ache, this can be a great choice. Ibuprofen tends to last longer before you need another dosage but it is processed in the stomach whereas acetominophen is processed in the liver.
Because of the way these medications are processed in the body, some people cannot take Ibuprofen safely. Always talk to your doctor if you have a medical concern and do be careful about taking too much pain medication.
(Note: I’m not a medical doctor so this post is based on opinion and some research and should not be taken for medical advice.)

Food combining is a philosophy that states that when certain foods are combined, they can have varying effects on our bodies. Some experts liken it to combining colours in laundry and the result being a mess at the end of the cycle. Eating certain foods together could cause problems digesting the food we eat and result in digestive upset. The philosophy states that eating fruits or vegetables alone can result in their being digested fully instead of sitting on top of other food that takes longer to break down in your body.
Various foods get broken down in different parts of the body and combining food could make it more difficult for your body to break things down resulting in a longer transit time, slower metabolism and feeling over full.
It’s also said that carbs shouldn’t be combined with fruits because they reduce the ability for your body to process the vitamins in the fruit. Eating fruit alone and waiting thirty minutes before eating something else could result in your getting maximum nutritional benefits and maximum metabolic benefits from the food. Suggestions also state that protein and starch is a poor mixture so this is bad news if you love spaghetti and meat sauce or shepherd’s pie.
Eating the wrong foods together could also reduce in feeling bloated, tired and unmotivated after a meal.
